Knowing and Experiencing God as a Real and Living Person, Bhaskar Sen I was born in a Hindu family and grew up in Catholic boarding school. I was taught that there was a God and that Christ died for our sins. This was all I knew about God. Then after I completed my high school education I came to the United States to go to college. I had many questions like, Who is God, how real is God, who is Christ, why did Christ die for us, why do I have sin? Toward the end of my graduate school a Christian backed into my car while I was not there and left a note for me asking me to contact her. I contacted her and when I met her and her husband, I found that they were very friendly, charming and proper human beings full of love and care. After that, through the word of God and by their help, I came to know that I had a human spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23), and that is the part inside of every human being created by God to receive, contain and contact God. Subsequently I prayed to the Lord to receive Him as my life. Things have never been the same since then. Many times as an unbeliever I wondered who is God, where is He, and how to find Him. I tried to find Him using my mind, but I could not find Him. I even spoke to many Christians and no one ever told me anything concerning my human spirit, rather everyone I met before guided me to find Him using my mind, to exercise the wrong faculty of my being to find God. Thank You Lord for Your mercy, for showing me that I have a human spirit (Genesis 2:7, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Hebrews 4:12), and within my human spirit I can contain God who is the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:17). After I received the Lord within my human spirit, my human spirit became mingled with the Spirit. So today my human spirit is no longer just a human spirit but it is the mingled spirit with the Spirit (Romans 8:16, 1 Corinthians 6:17). This is the key for knowing, experiencing, and enjoying the Lord subjectively. Today my mingled spirit makes the Lord real to me, makes the Lord experiential and enjoyable to me. In the Training we are blessed to learn how to turn from our mind to our spirit to enjoy and experience the Lord. The human spirit is important because it is this spirit that Christ and the Spirit dwell in, taking the spirit as God's habitation (2 Timothy 4:22a, Romans 8:11, Ephesians 2:22). I can worship God (John 4:24), have my daily Christian walk (Romans 8:4b), and serve the Lord (Romans 1:9, 12:11) according to my spirit. Main | History | Testimonies | Links Copyright © 2002.
